Before you ask

Questions

The things people ask most. If yours is not here, just send it — every message is answered within a day.

I only have a photocopy of the fingerprint. Is that enough?
Often, yes. Photocopies lose the faintest ridges but usually keep the pattern. Send it and we will look before you commit to anything.
How do I get a print if the funeral home did not take one?
Ask them — many keep a record for longer than families expect. Failing that, prints turn up on old documents, in baby books, and on clay impressions people forget they have.
Will you send the original back?
We do not want the original. Photograph it or scan it and keep it where it is. Nothing irreplaceable should be in the post.
What if it comes out wrong?
If the piece does not match the proof you approved, we cut it again and we pay the shipping — and if we still cannot get it right, you are refunded in full. If you approved a proof and changed your mind afterwards, tell us anyway — we would rather work it out than have you keep something you do not love.
How long does it take?
Most pieces are made and shipped within two to three weeks of an approved proof. Tell us if you are working to a service or a date, and it goes to the front.

Tell us what you have. If you are not sure whether it will work, that is exactly the message to send — we would rather talk you out of something than sell it to you.

We read every one of these ourselves and reply within a day. Nothing is cut, and nothing is charged, until you have seen a proof and said yes.

Taken on a phone in daylight is fine. Keep the original wherever it is — we never need it sent.
